“Cheikha” is a doll that is modeled after a Lebanese woman dressed in a traditional costume in the style of a bygone era. The name is an honorific or a title given to a distinguished woman as a form of respect.
This unique piece was produced in Tripoli for the Play by Minjara Collection, a range of wooden playful objects infused with a sense of Lebanese culture. Play by Minjara emerged from a partnership between Minjara and the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts (ALBA) Design Department at the University of Balamand.
